# Configure Your Messaging Playbook and Delivery Mode

> Shape your positioning, writing style, proof points, and sign-offs — then choose how closely you review outgoing LinkedIn messages and emails.

The messaging playbook tells the Sales Agent what to say and how to say it. Configure it under **Settings → Prompts**. Changes apply to new messages generated after you save; messages already queued are not retroactively updated.

## Build the shared message strategy

Use the playbook to make the following explicit for every seat:

* **Positioning** — what problem you solve and for whom
* **Proof and success stories** — specific examples or results the agent may reference
* **Audience hooks** — angles most likely to resonate with your target personas
* **Language guardrails** — words, claims, and approaches to use or avoid
* **Offer structure** — the value you provide before asking for a call or meeting
* **Compliance requirements** — market-specific or regulatory restrictions
* **Persona differentiation** — distinct approaches for champions versus economic decision-makers

Concrete examples teach tone and style far more effectively than adjectives such as "professional" or "friendly." Include one to three messages you would be comfortable sending yourself.

## Configure each seat's voice

LinkedIn and email have separate writing-style fields because the channels behave differently in length, formality, and format. For each seat, adjust:

* tone and greeting style
* message length
* level of formality
* sentence rhythm and structure

For multilingual outreach, configure a dedicated sign-off for each supported language so the closing always matches the language of the message body.

## Keep sign-offs and signatures separate

The Sales Agent assembles each outbound email in a fixed order:

1. Generated message body
2. Language-specific email sign-off
3. Email signature

The LinkedIn sign-off is appended to every LinkedIn message and follow-up.

<Warning>
  Do not place a closing phrase such as "Best regards" or "Kind regards" inside your email signature. The configured sign-off is added automatically as a separate step — including one in the signature as well will produce two closings in every message.
</Warning>

Keep cold-email signatures lean. Your name, role, company, and essential contact details are enough. Avoid images and unnecessary links, as they can affect email deliverability.

## Decide how much to review

Under **Settings → Schedule → Outreach delivery**, choose one of four delivery modes. The mode controls whether LinkedIn messages and emails are sent automatically or held for your review.

| Mode                          | LinkedIn                               | Email                         |
| ----------------------------- | -------------------------------------- | ----------------------------- |
| **Approve LinkedIn messages** | Review in the dashboard before sending | Send automatically |
| **Email drafts** | Send automatically | Create drafts for you to send |
| **Review both** | Review in the dashboard before sending | Create drafts for you to send |
| **Send automatically** | Send automatically | Send automatically |

For a new playbook or after a significant update, switch to **Review both** until the output quality is consistently correct. Tighten the mode gradually as you gain confidence in the results.

<Note>
  AI-generated messages can contain factual errors, awkward phrasing, or inaccurate claims. You remain responsible for the content sent from your accounts, including when automatic delivery is enabled. Review samples regularly.
</Note>

Once your delivery mode is set, see [Review messages](/operate/review-messages) for the full approval workflow.
